肯亞湖系的湖泊都很淺而且鹼性；意味著這裡能養活諸如綠藻之類的植物，綠藻是許多水鳥的食物來源。
數百種鳥類在此茁壯成長，包括十三種面滅種威的鳥類及大白鵜鶘，牠們都以此區作為繁殖棲息的大本營。
水牛、獵豹、猴子和瀕危的羅斯柴爾德長頸鹿也都以此區為家。
其他自然景觀 野生動植物在東非大裂谷的這一區塊，並不是唯一的自然奇景。
裂谷標出一個所在地，在那裡，陸地在遠低於地表的地方被分裂開來。
這種地表下的岩塊離距造成地面上引人注目的諸多景觀；特別是走在柏格利亞湖周圍的時候，就能看到從間歇泉及溫泉處冉冉上升的水蒸氣。
遊客能在肯亞大裂谷從事的另外一些活動包括打高爾夫球、騎馬和徒步健行。

But growing up, my family usually would say supper if it was during the week or a lighter meal at nighttime. And if it was a very big meal or a family meal, they would call it dinner.
