Should you watch a movie in a theater or at home？
珍妮佛：我可不這麼認為。
我們在家也比較自由；我們可以按暫停去拿零嘴，或是上廁所，都不會錯過電影的任何一部分。
梅森：可是我喜歡跟陌生人在黑暗中看電影的那種集體體驗。
珍妮佛：我懂你的意思，那樣的確是有趣。
不過我們在家裡有最好的位置；電影院的座位又不能都自己選，而且有時候旁邊的人還可能噴了味道很可怕的香水。
梅森：那種情形只發生過一次。
此外，只有看大的螢幕才能把在電視螢幕上可能會忽略掉的那些小細節全部看清楚。
而且電影院的音響環繞在四周，能讓你覺得自己就像是身處在電影場景中一樣。
珍妮佛：你說的那些都沒錯，可是我們的音效卡也能讓我們有那樣的感覺。
梅森：是沒錯，但還是不一樣。
在電影院更容易讓人跳脫真實人生；能夠幫助妳暫時融入電影的幻想世界。
珍妮佛:嗯，要是你周圍的人一直打開手機看訊息，你就沒辦法待在那個想像世界裡了。
梅森：有時候是會這樣，那也真的是很煩，不過出門對我們會有好處的。
珍妮佛：好吧 ，但我希望這次不會有個很高的人坐在我前面。

I doubt it.
We have more freedom at home, too.
We can pause the movie and get snacks or use the
bathroom without missing anything.
But I enjoy that communal experience of watching a movie in the dark with strangers.
I know what you mean, and that is fun.
But at home we have the best seats in the house.
There, the seats are assigned, and sometimes someone nearby is wearing awful-smelling perfume.
That's only happened once.
And only on a big screen can you see all the tiny details you might miss on a TV screen.
And the sound surrounds you and makes you feel like
you're right in the scene.

Preview vs. trailer
Although I guess a trailer is more what you can see, it's made, and you can watch it anywhere like online, whereas a preview is at a place like a theater.
It's like "pre-" the movie that you're watching... (Oh, that's true.) or right before.

Because when I think of something being communal, I think I'm actually interacting with these people and maybe developing a little bit of a relationship, or we're sharing something meaningful together.
When I think of something communal, I think of, you know, a club that we have at school or maybe going to church together with other people.

That movie is coming to the big screen this weekend.
Those are good points, but our sound board helps a lot with that feeling.
Yes, but it's not the same.
It is so much easier to escape the realism of one's life.
It helps you become part of the movie's fantasy world for a while.
Well, you can't stay in that world when people's phones light up when they check them.
Occasionally that happens, and it is annoying, but it'll do us good to get out.
OK, I guess ... but I hope this time there won't be a tall guy sitting in front of me.
