你喜歡在辦公室還是在家上班？Where would you rather work?
羅伯和瓊安在同一家公司的不同部門上班。
他們兩個人去年都在家裡遠距辦公；不過，今年則是一週會有幾天回到公司上班。
他們正在討論公司做的一項員工調查；公司想知道大家對於無限期遠距離辦公的想法。
羅伯：我對於不必再進辦公室是覺得很興奮啦；這意味著我可以在任何地方辦公。我可以搬到南部，或甚至搬到國外去！
瓊安：可是，那樣你和同事就沒有面對面的連結機會了。如果都不用進辦公室，我一定會覺得孤立無援又寂寞。如果你需要指引或是支援，該怎麼辦？
羅伯：嗯，去年我們居家辦公的時候，經理每週都會和大家開個別線上會議。
瓊安：有幫助嗎？
羅伯：幫助很大。
此外，我們還有小組會議；因此，我並不覺得自己跟同事的關係薄弱。任何人如果有問題，都能儘管跟我聯絡，反之亦然。
瓊安：我們經理則是啟用一種有趣又能提供資訊的社群媒體互動分享模式。
羅伯：而且，大家也都是必須相互溝通的
Robert and Joann work in different departments at the same company.
They both worked from home last year. But this year they have returned to the office a few days a week.
They are discussing an employee survey.
The company wants to find out people's feelings about working from a remote location indefinitely.
Robert：I'm excited about never having to go to the office again. That means I can work from anywhere. I can move across the country or even out of the country!
But then you would have no face-to-face connection with the people you work with.
Joann：I would feel isolated and lonely if I didn't ever go into the office. What would you do when you needed guidance or support?
Robert：Well, when we worked from home last year, my manager had individual weekly online meetings with people.
Joann：Was that helpful?
Robert：Very. And we also had team meetings. Because of that, I didn't feel like I had weak relationships with my colleagues. If anyone had a question, they felt free to contact me and vice versa.
Joann：My manager started a social media style of sharing that is fun and informative.
Robert：And people have to reach out as well.

sympathize with other people in their work because you're sharing the same kind of experiences. Sometimes if you're working in different places and you have different experiences, you might be able to feel what the other person is feeling, but you don't know for sure.
