難以忘懷的一次龍舟賽事An unforgettable dragon boat experience
划龍舟可不是一件容易的事。除了身為龍舟隊員需要投入的大量時間之外，划龍舟還是一個全身性的運動。當我初加入一支龍舟隊的時候，隊員告訴我至少需要三年的時間才能成為一名優秀的划 槳手。超多待記事項；正確的姿勢及移動方式，還有整齊劃一的團隊動作，都是一支龍舟隊伍 得勝的必要條件。 龍舟競賽是國內一項歷史悠久的傳統，也是端午節慶祝活動的潮。不過，因為新冠疫情的緣故，去年的龍舟比賽從六月延到十月才舉辦。 史上第一次，臺北龍舟錦標賽在十月的連續假期期間舉行。我們團隊深知河川賽況在十月會有些差異，但對於屆時狀況會有多不尋常則沒有什麼概 念。然而，鄰近臺灣的一個颱風還是造成了河面颳起強風、激起湍急水流、形成波濤洶湧。今年大約有四十支隊伍參賽，因此我對於我們這隊能否連連晉級，並沒有抱持太大期 望；畢竟這次比賽對我們大多數的團員來說，都是首度參賽。 此外，每一場預賽都只有前兩名最快抵達終點的隊伍才能晉級到下一輪的賽事。

joined a team, they told me three years

for a team's success.
Dragon boat racing is a well-honored tradition on the island and the highlight of Dragon Boat Festival. Nevertheless, because of the pandemic, last year's races were postponed from June to October.
For the first time, Taipei's dragon boat championships were held during the October holiday.
Our team knew racing conditions on the river would be different in October, but we had no idea how extraordinary they would be. A nearby typhoon contributed to the fierce winds, strong currents and choppy waters on the river.
With about 40 teams participating, I didn't expect our team to advance very far. This was the first competition for most of us. and only the top two finishers in each heat would advance to the next round.
