你或許聽過「一分耕耘，一分收穫」這句俗話，但卻不知道它出自何處。
實際上該諺語為「天下沒有不勞而獲的事」，出處則是《窮理查年鑑》；由班傑明‧富蘭克林於一七三二年十二月，在自己位於賓州費城的印刷店開始印刷出版。
《窮理查年鑑》連續出版二十五年，非常受到歡迎；年銷售量達到一萬冊。
年鑑指的是匯聚載錄一個日曆年日期暨時事資料的書冊。
很多殖民地時期的美國人藉由閱讀《窮理查年鑑》開始新的一年。
舉凡天氣預報、食譜、測量圖表、短篇故事和詩集、箴言、益智遊戲等種種資訊應有盡有。
讀者尤其特別喜愛「窮理查」筆下幽默又實用的建言。
一些窮理查所指的諸如「早睡早起，讓你聰明、健康又富裕」這樣頗有見地的格言，其實是出自更早期的作家之手；富蘭克林只是轉而放在自己的年鑑中以引起讀者的注意。
他的建議涵蓋諸多常見問題，其中多數不乏與金錢、善用時間以及努力工作的重要性有關。
Perhaps you have heard the saying "No pain, no gain" but have no idea where it
comes from. The actual proverb is "There are no gains without pains" and comes
from Poor Richard's Almanack. Benjamin Franklin began to publish it from his
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, print shop in December of 1732. It was published
continuously for 25 years and was very popular, selling 10,000 copies a year. An
almanac is a set of dates and information for a calendar year.
Many Colonial Americans began the new year by reading Poor Richard's Almanack. Weather predictions, recipes, measurement charts, short stories and poems, pro puzzles and more filled its pages. Readers particularly enjoyed the humor and practical advice that came from the pen of Poor Richard. Some of Poor Richard's insightful sayings such as "early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise" came from earlier writers. Franklin just brought them to the attention of his audience in his almanac. His advice covered common concerns, most of which dealt with money, use of time and the importance of hard work.

This is an expression or something that is overused
And because it is overused, anybody who uses it, people think of them as lacking original thought. So if someone says... if someone thinks that what you said is cliché, that's not a good thing
almanac 年曆書；農曆
每年出版的書，收錄對一年的氣候預測、日出日落時間、潮汐表、天文現象等等同曆法有關的資料。 中華文化入面的通勝，都可以算是一種年曆書。
