想像自己有機會在一個新的地方建立令人興奮的新生活；你會選擇新生活，還是重新考慮、回到家鄉？

這正是劉安婷曾經面臨過的抉擇。

劉安婷成長於臺中；2008年時獲得普林斯頓大學錄取，這對她而言可說是美夢成真。

2012年，劉安婷以優等成績從普林斯頓畢業，拿到國際事務的學位。

接著她在紐約一家知名公司工作。

劉安婷解釋道：「我甚至從來沒有想過要回到家鄉。」但是，隨著日子一天天過去，臺灣更需要她的這個想法卻一直揮之不去。

劉安婷在就讀大學期間，曾經到過迦納、東埔寨和其他國家進行研究。

一直到她親眼目睹非洲的貧困，她才開始惦記起家鄉的窮人。

在非洲時，她意識到自己絕對不可能如同當地人一般詳盡了解非洲文化；從而讓她明白只有在地的年輕一輩才能振興非洲、建設非洲。

接著，她不得不問自己，這對她而言意味著什麼。

Imagine you have the opportunity to build a thrilling new life in a new place. Would you choose a new life, or would you reconsider and return to your home? This is the exact choice that Anting Liu faced. Liu grew up in Taichung. She received her admission to Princeton in 2008, which was a dream come true. Liu graduated cum laude from Princeton with a degree in international affairs in 2012. She landed a job at a prominent company in New York City. "I never even marginally thought about returning [home]," she explained.

But as the years went by, she couldn't shake the feeling that she was more needed in Taiwan. While in university, Liu had traveled to Ghana, Cambodia and other countries to do research. It wasn't until she witnessed poverty in Africa that she started thinking about the poor at home. In Africa, she became aware that she could never intimately understand African culture like the locals did. That led to the realization that their young people would be the ones to revive EGO and build Africa. She was then forced to ask herself what that meant for her.
