白宮復活節Easter at The House

我們家特有的復活節慶祝方式My family had a very special way of celebrating Easter

復活節萬歲!

多麼美妙啊,能用這樣的方式慶祝春天還有隨之而來的新生活。

世界各地家家戶戶以多種方式歡慶復活節這個特殊的日子；去教堂,彩繪雞蛋,然後與家人朋友相聚。

我們家當然也做這些事；只不過,我們做的不只這些。

我們家有一項讓復活節顯得格外特別的家族傳統；我們會參加白宮一年一度的「復活節滾彩蛋」！

排第一

白宮復活節滾彩蛋的活動可以追溯至一八七八年。

該活動於復活節的翌日舉辦。

在那個星期一,白宮會開放南苑草坪,歡迎孩子們前來參與滾復活節彩蛋的盛事。

打從一九五Ｏ年代中期一直到六Ｏ年代中期,你們知道隊伍中排最前面的都是哪些人嗎？

猜對了：就是我們強納森家的四個孩子。

我們全都穿著可愛的兔子裝；完整搭配上又長又軟的免耳朵和毛茸茸的尾巴。

Hooray for Easter! What a wonderful way to celebrate springtime and the new life it brings. Families around the world celebrate this special day in many ways. They attend church, color eggs and get together with family and friends. Of course our family did those things, too. But that's not the only thing we did. We had another family tradition that made Easter extra special. We attended the Annual Easter Egg Roll at the White House!

First in line

This Easter event dates back to 1878. It's held the day after Easter. That Monday, the White House welcomes children to roll Easter Eggs on its South Lawn. From the mid-1950s to the mid-1960s, who do you think were the first ones in line? You guessed it: the four Johansen children. AlI of us were dressed in cute bunny costumes. They were complete with long, floppy rabbit ears and fluffy tails.
