AFTERSCHOOL ACTIVITIES
Are afterschool activities worthwhile?
Vivian:Of course school comes first. But aren't you interested in exploring some interests and making new friends?
Emma:Sure. But I really want a college scholarship, and I need top grades for that.
Vivian:You know colleges want well-rounded students with good grades.
Emma:So you're saying it would be to my benefit to do some afterschool
activities.
Vivian:Exactly!
Emma: Maybe, but I'm aiming for an academic scholarship.
Vivian:Let's say you and another person have the same grades. What's going to set you apart?
Emma:You're thinking it will be afterschool activities. Have you ever considered you might have too many activities?
Vivian:No. My parents let me be involved in whatever activities I want unless my
grades drop.
Emma:Cool, but it is stressful for me when I have too many things to juggle.
Vivian: Not me. I am better organized when I have a lot going on.
Emma:You must be an expert on maintaining a schedule then!
Vivian:It's really not that hard. I just try my best to stay organized. Good for you.
Emma:That's not my strongest point, but I am pretty good at studying!
Vivian:Well, think about it.
