This platform brings people together
It's always nice when a group of people can gather together around a shared interest. Unfortunately, this isn't always achievable due to issues such as distance,
time and different schedules. Luckily, modern innovations like Discord have taken hassles like these out of social gatherings, but not the fun.
How it started
Discord, a chatting platform for groups, has flourished since it was first launched in
2015 with a particular group in mind. The LARE service was initially made to provide video game lovers - gamers - with a simple way to communicate and play at the same time.
The gamer community is dear to the creators, Jason Citron and Stan Vishnevskiy, as they, too, have a passion for video games.
Little did anyone know that Discord would grow so fast because people were looking for a way to socialize during the pandemic. People came to the realization that the platform could be used to create communities not only for gaming but also for any interest under the sun. Now Discord is used by a wide range of people, from lovers of the outdoors to artists to those wanting to keep in touch with family members.
