或許，這就是為什麼因病住院的人會這麼喜歡鮮花的原因。
拉森-傑伊親身經歷了這一切。
傑伊在二oo七年從建築物跌落後，便在醫院住了好幾個星期。
他歷經多次手術，然後開始逐漸失去希望。
然而，傑伊的朋友和家人帶來了援助；他們每一天都送來鮮花，然後奇妙的事就發生了。
傑伊的心情開始好轉，對未來充滿助望。
他很快意識到周遭其他人並沒有獲得同樣的情感支持；這促使他一個病房走過一個病房，分送出自己的鮮花。

Nothing seems to brighten up a room faster than a bouquet of flowers. While bringing a touch of nature inside, fresh flowers make a room look and smell better. Perhaps that's why people who are confined to hospital rooms appreciate flowers so much.
Larsen Jay experienced this for himself. After falling from a building in 2007, Jay was in the hospital for weeks. He faced numerous surgeries and began losing hope. Jay's friends and family members, though, came to his rescue.
They delivered fresh flowers each day and something wonderful happened. Jay's mood began to improve, and he looked toward the future with increased hope.
He soon realized that others around him weren't receiving the same type of emotional support. This prompted him to go from room to room, giving away his flowers. The results were amazing! He watched people's misery quickly turn to happiness.
After leaving the hospital, Jay couldn't forget the power of his flowers. Within six months, he came up with the idea for Random Acts of Flowers.

You know, I see this word "misery" here, (it's like sadness or feeling depressed), I kind of think of being in the pit of despair, just feeling like you're there, and you're sad, and you can't get out.
Wow, despair is even worse than depression, I think. (It is.) Yeah.
It's like you've completely lost hope. And that's the way that some people feel sometimes.
And if they're in that state, then we could say that they are miserable, right?
They're in misery.
And there's a phrase in English that we say: Misery loves company.
And you might say this when there's somebody in your life who only likes to talk to other people about the negative things going on in life.
Some people just like sharing with other people about the unhappy things that are going on because misery loves company.
They need somebody to share with.
This kind of person frustrates me sometimes because it feels like being unhappy themselves isn't enough for them.
They have to make everyone else around them unhappy as well.
Right.
And it's one thing to sympathize with somebody...
(Right.) and to show that you are right there with somebody and you try to understand their pain.
But it's another thing to try to make other people depressed and sad with you forever.
