The Important of Sunshine
再忙也要花點時間做日光浴enjoy some time in the sun
Because COVID is contagious and sometimes deadly, it makes most people's blood run cold. While vaccines have helped to stem that fear, some findings suggest that the sun's UV rays may offer some protection. Last April, the British Journal of Dermatology published the results of a study by a Scottish team led by Richard Weller of the University of Edinburgh. They found that the sun may be COVID's new foe. The researchers analyzed all COVID deaths that had been recorded in the continental U.S. between January and April 2021. The findings showed something notable.
People in areas with the highest level of UVA-ray exposure were not as likely to die of COVID as those in areas with the lowest exposure. The same type of research done in England and Italy showed the same results.
The theory suggests that nitric oxide, which is released by the skin when exposed to sunlight, reduces the ability of the virus to reproduce and spread.
Researchers that deal with COVID not only agree that more research needs to be carried out but also are very encouraged by the findings. Most people concur that the benefits of sunshine are substantial. So, grab your sunscreen, and soak up a bit of sun.
