不過，現在很多串流服務會同時上架新節目的整季內容，讓人能夠一集接著一集一口氣看完。
這種現象稱為追劇。
有些有線電視公司為了提升競爭力，也如法炮製，嘗試同時上映一整季影集的做法。

目前Netflix雖然稱霸串流服務市場，卻也面臨愈來愈多競爭。
有些服務出自既有的企業公司，例如迪士尼+就是一例。
然而，現有串流服務的數目也不可能無止盡地成長。
觀眾沒有錢——也沒有時間——能訂閱十種不同的串流服務。
所以，最有可能的狀況就是有些串流服務將會蓬勃發展，而有些則難免以倒閉收場。
電視廣告
串流服務造成的最大影響，也許是造成曾經身為廣告產業核心的電視廣告陷入衰微。
不過，企業的廣告預算不會就此消失，而是會將資金改投入在以其他方式觸及大眾。
因此，串流服務可能不只是對一般人在哪裡看電視節目造成影響而已。
Binge-watching
Episodes of TV programs are traditionally broadcast once a week by television stations, which used to compel people to wait for the next one. But now many streaming services post entire seasons of new shows at the same time, allowing people to watch episode after episode in a single sitting. This phenomenon is known as binge-watching.
People do not have the money time to subscribe to 10 different streaming services. So most likely some streaming services will prosper while others will inevitably collapse.
TV advertising
Perhaps the greatest effect of streaming services will be the decline in television advertising, which used to be the core of the advertising industry. But companies' advertising budgets won't just disappear; instead, they will redirect their money to reach people in other ways. Thus streaming services may affect more than simply where people watch their TV shows.
