為無聲難民勇敢發聲 A voice for the voiceless
最終，馬爾迪尼和姊姊步行來到德國柏林，並在那裡獲得庇護。
不久，家人也陸續與她們會合。
馬爾迪尼接著搬到漢堡，接受專業游泳運動員的訓練，並於二○一六年里約奧運時加入首支奧運難民代表隊。
她在里約奧運排名第四十。
去年，她則是東京奧運難民隊的掌旗手之一，同時也參與賽事。
在那裡，她深刻體會到代表全世界超過六千五百萬名難民的重要性。
馬爾迪尼在二○一六年於聯合國發表演說之後，與美國總統歐巴馬會面。
同年，《時代雜誌》將她列為世界上三十位最具有影響力的青少年之一，然後她也會見了教宗方濟各。
二○一七年時，馬爾迪尼獲得任命為聯合國難民署親善大使；她誓言將努力激勵世界各地的難民。
馬爾迪尼希望能給予其他難民勇氣繼續自己的夢想，無論他們曾經歷過什麼事。

Mardini and her sister eventually went on foot to Berlin, Germany, where they were granted asylum. Later other family members joined them. Mardini then moved to Hamburg, trained as a professional swimmer and joined the SE first Refugee Olympic Team at the Rio
2016 Olympics. There she placed 40th. Last year she was one of the refugee team's flag bearers at the Tokyo Olympics, where she also competed. While there she realized the importance of representing the more than 65 million refugees all over the world.
After speaking at the United Nations in 2016, Mardini met U.S. President Obama. That same year Time magazine listed her as one of the world's 30 most influential teenagers, and she met Pope Francis.
In 2017, Mardini was appointed Goodwill Ambassador for United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). She pledged to work hard to inspire refugees around the world.
Mardini wants to give other refugees the courage to carry on with their dreams in spite of what they have been through.
She herself has a new goal: "I want to get a German passport, study and then open
a swimming school."
