AMERICAN FOOTBALL TAILGATING

It's the season for college football, food and fun!

Today tailgating doesn't just involve a truck's tailgate. It takes on many different forms from simple picnics to catered meals. Some of the fancier tailgate parties take place at the University of Mississippi.

The school has been called America's "#1 tailgating school." On game days, tailgating happens in tents set up on a grassy field on the campus. Cars and trucks are not allowed in the area. Inside some of the tents, you'll find TVs, china and even chandeliers, along with delicious food.

Most tailgate parties center around food. Some of the most popular foods are

burgers, hotdogs and chicken wings. It's common for people to bring enough food

to share with strangers.

No matter whether a tailgate party is formal or simple, team spirit always runs high. Fans typically dress in school colors and decorate their tailgating areas to match. Tailgating is like one big community party where football lovers are welcomed.
