她向露西詢問事由，露西卻顯露出些許戒備之心

露比：看來妳是拋下我自己先開買了，而且還是在設計師品牌的店。

妳到底買了什麼?

露西：我就知道妳不會贊同的，是皮包啦。

我看到它陳列在商店櫥窗裡，就愛上它了。

露比：喔，讓我看看啦!

好漂亮呀！

妳為什麼說我不會贊同?

是因為真的很貴，對吧?

露西：是有點貴啦。

可是，有時候就是需要某樣東西讓自己覺得與群體相融入，這個皮包很適合開啟對話。

露比：什麼意思?

露西：我看過有人說「我很喜歡妳的包包」或是「好漂亮的包包啊」；然後，就開始交談起來了。

露比：那就是膚淺。

妳想把友誼建立在那種基礎上嗎?

露西：我沒有把友誼建立在一個皮包上。

我只是剛開始新工作，也許可以用這個皮包來認識別人。

別這麼尖銳批評嘛。

而且這個牌子的品質很好，可以用好幾年。

露比：以妳為了那個牌子所付的價錢，我真的希望如此！
