婚宴形式Wedding Reception Choices

一生最重要的喜宴，到底正式好還是非正式佳? Is a formal or informal reception better?

馬克和潘明年春天要結婚了；婚禮將在他們所屬的教會舉行。

現在，他們得討論一下要採用哪種喜宴形式。

馬克:那麼，潘，妳有想過我們要選什麼樣的喜宴嗎?

我們得盡快預訂場地，否則都會被訂光的。

潘:這我都知道；你認為呢?

馬克:嗯，妳希望喜宴有多正式? 是要選擇有專人服務的正式晚宴，還是比較輕鬆隨意的自助餐? 這是我們得先想好最重要的一點。

潘:如果我們選擇自助餐，賓客就能夠起來走動，然後彼此多聊聊；當然一定更隨意不拘束了。

馬克:只不過，到時就會有很多人在排隊等候，然後客人會四處閒蕩。 此外，還得考慮到餐間敬酒以及之後的舞會。

潘:沒錯，排隊拿餐可能會花較多時間。 不過也可能可以減少食物浪費，因為大家都只拿自己想吃的東西。

馬克:我喜歡自助餐，因為如果想要多吃一點，隨時可以再去拿!

Now they are discussing what kind of reception to have.

So, Pam, have you given any thought to what kind of reception we should have?

We need to reserve a place fairly soon or everything will be booked.

What do you think?

Well, how formal do you want it to be? Should we opt for a formal sit-down dinner or a more informal buffet?

That is the biggest question we have to answer.

If we had a buffet, people could get up and move around and chat more.

It would be more casual for sure.

There would be a lot of waiting in line, though, and people would be milling around.

And there are the toasts during dinner and the dance afterward to consider.

True, a buffet line might take more time.

But it would probably cut down on wasted food because people just take what they want to eat.

I like buffets because it's easy to go back for seconds when I want more food!
