水母自帶「超能カ」Jellyfish Superpowers

一個美麗的秋日，我太太和我一起前往我們在當地最喜歡的一處地點浮潛；該地位於一個受保護的港口，因此我們在豐富的海洋生物環繞中游泳總是感到很安全。

在租用潛水衣以抵禦冰冷海水的時候，潛水店的女店員警告我們，海灣裡到處都是水母。

但由於我們將會被氣丁橡膠完全包覆住，所以我們並不擔心。

有些水母的確會造成人痛苦、難受的刺痛感，不過我們相信潛水衣會保護我們。

我們一跳進水裡，便很開心地發現水裡全是一些無害的海月水母和櫛水母。

櫛水母基至沒有會螯人的觸鬚!

我們很高興能在牠們發光、漂浮時與之同游。

的確，水母是有點令人討厭；牠們會堵塞船隻冷卻系統並且破壞魚塭。

此外，牠們也相當危險；箱形水母就被認為是最毒的海洋動物，具有足以整人致死的能力。

然而，水母並非有害生物。

牠們的結構簡單、優雅而且迷人。

水母的相關研究已出現重大科學突破，而且有些水母還擁有足以被視為「超能力」的驚人能耐。

One beautiful fall day, I took a trip with my wife to our favorite local snorkeling spot. It's located in a protected harbor, so it always feels safe to swim there among the abundant sea life. While renting out wetsuits to fend off the chill of the water, the girl at the dive shop warned us that the bay was full of jellyfish. We were going to be covered in neoprene, so we weren't worried. Some jellyfish can deliver painful, irritating stings, but we were confident our wetsuits would protect us.

Upon jumping into the water, we were delighted to find it full of harmless moon jellyfish and comb jellies. Comb jellies don't even have stinging tentacles! We were delighted to swim with them as they flashed and floated along. Jellyfish can, indeed, be a nuisance. They can clog cooling systems on ships and destroy fish farms. They can also be dangerous; the ox jellyfish is considered the most venomous marine animal with a potentially fatal sting.

 Jellyfish, however, are not pests. They are simple, elegant and fascinating. The study of jellyfish has led to major scientific breakthroughs, and some have amazing abilities that can rightfully be considered superpowers.

濕式與乾式潛水衣的區別於濕式潛水衣進入水中仍然有水份進入衣服內；而乾式則完全隔絕水份進入，令身體保持乾爽。

濕式潛水衣可以在溫暖至中度的冷水中提供足夠的溫暖。而乾式潛水衣一般比較昂貴且結構更複雜，但可用於低溫環境下提供保護，或者進出污水的地方
