汽車的未來：電池 vs. 燃料電池 THE FUTURE OF CARS: BATTERIES OR FUEL CELLS?

哪一個更環保？哪一個較可行？Which is greener? Which is more viable?

EV電池電動車比較便宜、更為方便，因為擁有穩定支援的基礎設施；FCV氫燃料電池電動車則能夠行駛更遠的里程，且氫氣罐的補充遠比電動車電池充電更加快速。

待解的難題

總的來說，電池電動車比傳統車輛的碳足跡更少；但是，生產電動車電池的採礦暨製作生產過程需要大量能源，而且還會消耗到化石燃料。

再者，電動車使用的電池電力經常由化石燃料產生。

大量電動車終將產生堆積如山的耗損電池，而減少這種電子垃圾衝擊的回收技術卻尚未開發出來。

氫燃料電池電動車也有問題。

氫是地球上最豐富的元素，但提取氫所需消耗的能源可能比氫本身所產生的能源更多。

氫燃料電池需要價格高昂的原料；而儲存氫氣也極為困難又燒錢。

哪一個可行呢？

目前很難說這兩個競爭者哪一個將會掌握未來的道路。

不過，人們希望至少其中一個能夠成為新標準。

內燃機確實是一項改變世界的了不起發明；但是，很多人會很樂意看到它所製造的噪音和空氣汙染成為過去的事。

EVs are cheaper and more convenient due to their supportive infrastructure. FCVs can travel farther, and their hydrogen tanks can be refilled much faster than EV batteries can be recharged.

Problems to solve

All things considered, an EV has a smaller carbon footprint than a traditional car. But the mining and factory processes that produce EV batteries are energy-intensive and consume fossil fuels.

Additionally, the electricity EVs use is often produced from fossil fuels. Millions of EVs will eventually result in mountains of worn-out batteries, and the recycling technology to diminish the effects of this e-waste hasn't been developed yet. 

FCVs also have problems. Hydrogen is the most abundant element on Earth, but it can take more energy to extract it than the hydrogen itself will produce. Hydrogen fuel cells require expensive raw materials. Storing hydrogen is also difficult and expensive.

Is either viable? It's hard to say which of these two contenders will rule the roads of the future. But people hope at least one will become the new standard. The internal combustion engine was a phenomenal, world-changing invention. But many will be glad to see its noise and air pollution become a thing of the past.
