大煙山國家公園GREAT SMOKY MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK

藍煙之地：美東最後一片原始淨土

Adventure awaits in America's most visited national park

不久前，我在開車尋找朋友的小木屋時，意外開上了一條陡峭山路。

狹窄、曲折的山路夾帶著陡峭山坡，讓我的心跳加速、手心直冒汗；有時我根本覺得自己好像在坐雲霄飛車。

但是，當我終於抵達位於山頂附近的小屋時，所有的恐懼都值得了。

我得以飽覽絕妙景色，從著名的大煙山群峰之一的山巔處。

山頂歷險記之後，我繼續進一步探索大煙山國家公園之美。

科學家在大煙山公園發現且記錄了超過一萬九千種動植物；聯合國因其獨特天然資源，將公園指定為「國際生物圈保護區」。

擁有豐富的野生生物、溪流和森林，來到大煙山絕對不會沒有可看和可做的事。

其中一個亮點就是格羅托瀑布步道，引領著登山健行客穿過森林、來到七點六公尺高的瀑布後方。

炎炎夏日中，這涼爽的環境更是令人愉悅！

Not too long ago I found myself driving up a steep mountain road, searching for a friend's log cabin. The very narrow road with its twists, turns and steep slopes made my heart beat fast and my palms sweat. I felt like I was on a roller coaster at times. But the terror was worth it when I finally reached the cabin near the top of the mountain. I was rewarded with fabulous views from the top of one of the many mountains in the famous Smoky Mountains.

After my mountaintop adventure, I went on to explore more of Great Smoky Mountains National Park (GSMNP). Within the park, scientists have found and documented over 19,000 species of plants and animals. Because of its unique natural resources, the United Nations has named the park an International Biosphere Reserve.

With an abundance of wildlife, streams and forests, you'll never run out of things to see and do in the Smokies. A highlight is Grotto Falls Trail which takes hikers through the forest and behind a 7.6-meter-high waterfall. On a hot summer day, the cool environment is delightful!
