「愛」與「和諧」的新場域A new venue that represents love and harmony

 南高雄港一座不同凡響的嶄新音樂中心掀起一陣波瀾、引發熱烈討論。

位於愛河河口旁的「高雄流行音樂中心」，於二○二一年十月三十一日正式開幕；幾天後，隨即主辦「金音創作獎」頒獎典禮，將高流的美展示在世人面前。

高流是南台灣第一個由政府資助的流行音樂場域。

二○○九年時，政府決策通過在高雄建造一座流行音樂中心。

由西班牙與臺灣建築團隊攜手為這個超過七十億臺幣的工程構思整體設計。

根據高雄市政府的說法，這座建築象徵了高雄港與高雄市之間的愛與和諧。

因其獨特設計，這座獲得獎項肯定的建築已經成為重要地標。

高流音樂中心的設立宗旨，包括推廣南臺灣音樂以及為當地年輕藝術家創造機會；亦計畫為國內外音樂家舉辦音樂盛事並提供專業訓練課程。

市政領導人也希望能利用高流中心在高雄發展文化旅遊市場

An outstanding new music center in the southern port of Kaohsiung is making waves. Kaohsiung Music Center (KMC), which is situated next to the mouth of the

Love River, opened officially on Oct. 31, 2021. Just days later, KMC displayed its beauty for all to see as it hosted the Golden Indie Music Awards (GIMAS).

The music center is the first pop music venue in southern Taiwan that is government funded. In 2009 the government approved construction of a pop music center in Kaohsiung. A Spanish-Taiwanese architectural team came up with the design for the more than NT$7 billion project. According to Kaohsiung's city government, the building symbolizes love for nature and harmony between the port and the city.

The award-winning structure, with its unique design, has already become an important landmark.

Some of the goals for KMC include advocating southern Taiwanese music and creating opportunities for young local artists. There are plans to host music

events for domestic and foreign musicians

and to offer professional training courses.

City leaders also hope to utilize KMC to develop a cultural tourism market in Kaohsiung.
