看不見的、看得見的一樣重要 What is unseen is as important as what is seen

每個鄉鎮、城市的地底下，都深埋著一個對於居民生活至關重要的隱形管道網絡。

水一旦從排水管或馬桶流掉後，人們便很少去想接下來會發生什麼事；反正「眼不見，心不念」。

其實，水會流入迷宮般的下水道，這些管渠將過量的雨水、污水及廢棄物運離，從而保持城市的乾淨清潔。

下水道主要分為三種類型：污水下水道、雨水下水道以及合流下水道。

臺灣同時擁有污水及雨水下水道，能透過不同管道收集雨水和污水。

下水道系統就是城市的靜脈。

家戶污水及工業廢水被收集在污水下水道中，送到下水道系統的核心——污水處理廠進行處理。

在處理廠裡，會先將固體廢物與水分離，然後將水進行淨化，再排放回水體。

這些放流水會被當作資源再利用於工業、農業或環境等目的用途。

此外，污水處理產生之污泥或沼氣也可以用來生產能源；除了為居民提供健康的環境以及良好的生活品質外，也能達到永續發展的目標。

Far below every town and city lies an invisible network of pipes crucial to the

lives of their residents. Once water disappears down a drain or toilet, people

rarely think about what happens to it. It's out of sight, out of mind. The water flows

into a maze of pipes that carries excess rainwater, wastewater and solid waste away, keeping the city clean.

There are three main types of sewers: sanitary sewers, storm sewers and combined sewers. Taiwan has both sanitary and storm sewers where rainwater and sewage are collected using different pipes.

This sewer system functions as the city's veins. Water containing human and industrial waste is collected in sanitary sewers and conveyed to sewage treatment plants, the heart of the sewer system, where waste is treated. There, the solid waste is separated from the water, which is then purified before being released back into the environment. It will be reused for industrial, agricultural or environmental purposes or to produce energy. Furthermore, the sludge and gas from sewage treatment can be used to produce energy. They not only contribute to a healthy environment and good quality of life, but also achieve the goal of sustainable development.

A potty mouth is when your language or the things you talk about is a little bit dirty or not always appropriate 

to go down the toilet 搞砸了 

But the idea here with this phrase is that something started out maybe OK, but after a while it's not been successful, and maybe it disappeared completely like maybe someone's job or someone's reputation, right

to get your mind out of the gutter

It means they’re dirty thoughts or maybe inappropriate thoughts.
