美式足球「車尾派對」AMERICAN FOOTBALL TAILGATING

球賽開打，怎能不吃吃喝喝熱鬧一番？It's the season for college football, food and fun!

準備好要瘋美式足球了嗎？

秋葉並微寒的空氣意味著美國足球賽季到來了。

是時候拿出和球隊隊服同色的衣帽，幫自家支持的隊伍加油打氣，爭取勝利了！

足球季也意味著「車尾派對熱」的開始。

在球賽開始前的幾個小時，民眾會開始聚集，通常是在體育館的停車場；他們會烹煮食物、大快朵頤、聽聽音樂、玩玩遊戲，準備看球賽。

這些活動稱為車尾派對，原因是食物通常在卡車的車尾門處供應。

車尾派對非常受歡迎，因此每年九月的第一個星期六便成了國定車尾派對日。

車尾派對的傳統可以回溯到美式足球剛興起的時期，還多虧了汽車的普及化；民眾擁有自家車輛以及足球比賽興起等現象在一九○○年代初期同時出現。

車輛給予足球迷自主性，可以出城看自己支持的球隊出賽。

在長途開車後，飢餓的民眾經常會在體育場附近享受野餐的樂趣。

Fall leaves and a chill in the air mean it's football season in America. It's time to

break out your team's colors and cheer your team on to victory!

Football season also signals the beginning of tailgate season. Hours before a game begins, people gather, often in stadium parking lots. They cook, eat, listen to music, play games and get ready for the game.

These events are called tailgate parties because food is commonly served from a truck's tailgate. It's so popular that the first Saturday of each September is National Tailgating Day.

This tradition can be traced back to football's early days, thanks to the arrival of cars. Car ownership in the early 1900s and football games went hand in hand.

Cars gave fans the freedom to travel out of town to see their teams play. After driving long distances, hungry travelers often enjoyed picnics near the stadium.

chill （n.）寒意；涼意

But one meaning of tailgating is when you are driving very closely behind somebody else on the road.
