SHOULD PLASTIC BAGS BE BANNED?
Would the world be better off without plastic bags?
YES or NO?

Roy is in the kitchen.
He is putting away some groceries.
Casey walks in and notices something.
Casey: Oh, Roy, not again!
Roy: What's wrong? You used plastic bags from the store again.
Casey: I thought we talked about this.
Roy: Here we go again.
Casey: This is serious, Roy.Everyone knows that plastic pollution is bad for the
environment. Did you know that many countries around the world have
banned plastic bags?
Roy: Really? Will banning plastic bags make a big difference in plastic
pollution?
Casey: Of course! Less plastic is a good thing. Plastic can kill seabirds, fish and more. It can also create harmful chemicals when burned.
Roy: I know plastic isn't good for the environment.
Casey: To make matters worse, billions of plastic bags are used each year.
Roy: Wow! That's a lot of plastic.
Casey: That's why people need to rely more on reusable bags.
Roy: I think there are good intentions regarding banning plastic bags. I'm just not sure how effective it will be.
Casey: What do you mean?
Roy: From what I've heard, just eliminating plastic bags won't make a dent in plastic pollution.
