STHE ALBUQUERQUE INTERNATIONAL BALLOON FIESTA國際熱氣球嘉年華
Up, up and away in a beautiful hot air balloon!
This fall, the skies over Albuquerque, New Mexico, will become a magnificent sea of color! From October 1-9 the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta will charm people from around the world.
It began in 1972 as a small group of just 13 hot air balloons in a parking lot. Now, it's the biggest hot air balloon festival in the world, with hundreds of participants and hundreds of thousands of visitors!
Many unique events happen during the balloon fiesta, but one of the highlights is the Mass Ascension. Several times during the fiesta, all of the participating balloons are launched into the air over a two-hour period. This remarkable display of sound and color is largely why the balloon fiesta is said to be the most photographed event in the world. During the Mass Ascension, spectators can walk around and watch the pilots prepare to take off. The event begins at 7 a.m., weather permitting. But the early birds who arrive by 6 a.m. will get to see the Dawn Patrol and the Morning Glow.
