Producer Alex Garcia wanted someone who uses ASL fluently and could use it to

communicate with Kong. He admitted that finding the right person was a real

challenge too. Kaylee had never appeared in a full-length film before, but it soon

became apparent that she was their preference. Garcia later said, "The moment we met Kaylee we knew she was the right girl for the part."

 Though making the movie was an incredible experience for Kaylee, having a conversation with the cast was difficult at first. Then her award-winning co-star

Alexander Skarsgård learned ASL in order to communicate with Kaylee.

 He has a great deal of praise and esteem for the young actress. According to

Skarsgård, Kaylee stole the show! Many, including Skarsgård, have remarked that Kaylee is completely natural and comfortable in front of the camera. That's not easy for any actor, but it's especially difficult for a newcomer to the movie business.

 By no means does Kaylee let the fact that she is deaf define her. Her prospects for the future look bright as she shares her gift of communication with the world, both on the big screen and off.
