讓孩子十三歲就上大學Sending kids to college by the age of 13

哈丁一家 大多數青少年男女在十三歲時，都還沒念高中，但是哈丁家的十個孩子卻全都在十三歲時開始念大學。

如今，哈丁家許多孩子都成了工程師、律師、醫師或建築師。

可是，這些傑出人士的雙親孟娜麗沙和齊普˙哈丁堅信孩子們的成功不是由於天分；而是因為認真努力以及一套著重於培養關鍵技能的方法。

長女漢娜十二歲時參加大學入學考試並且通過測驗；讓她年僅十七歲就取得學士學位。

她接著攻讀碩士學位，現在的工作是在設計太空船。

她的手足亦紛紛追隨她的腳步；之後的七個弟、妹都在年紀非常小的時候便完成大學學業，雖然各自的主修及後來的職業都不盡相同。

目前剛步入青春期的兩個最小弟妹則正在讀大學。

倘若哈丁家的孩子念的是一般公立或私立學校，那麼可能不會這麼年輕就上大學。

哈丁夫婦之所以能加速孩子的教育完全是因為常年的在家自學教育

The family

At age 13, most young people aren't even in high school yet, but all 10 children in the Harding family had embarked on university by that age. Now many of the Harding children are engineers, lawyers, doctors or architects. But Mona Lisa and Kip Harding, the parents of these high achievers, insist that their children's success is not due to their innate genius.

Rather, it is owing to hard work and a method that focuses on the most important skills.

 The oldest child, Hannah, took  university entrance exams when she was just 12 years old - and passed. This set her up to graduate with a bachelor's degree at 17. She went on to get a master's degree and now works designing spacecraft. Her siblings followed suit. The next seven also all graduated from college at remarkably young ages, though their majors, and later careers, are different. In their early teens, the youngest two are attending college now.

Had the Harding children attended a typical public or private school, they probably would not have been allowed to start college so early. The Hardings were able to accelerate their children's education because they taught them at home all year long.
