一、The Language of Laundry: How to Fix Your Clothing Problems
Dear Luna,
You have to help me!
You have to help me! Last year, my grandma bought me a white designer blouse for my birthday.
I've tried to take good care of it, but something went really wrong.
When I put it on yesterday, it had turned a horrible gray color!
My grandma will be heartbroken if she sees what I've done.
What can I do?!
Thank you, Karen

Dear Karen,
Neither you nor your grandma needs to worry.
A quick look at the laundry label will save the day.
Firstly, what temperature does it say it should be washed at?
Your blouse is white, so it's probably 40°C.
White clothes often turn gray when they've been washed in colder water.
Next, see if the label has a little white triangle on it.
If it does, then I have good news:
you can bleach your blouse and make it bright again.
A triangle with a cross through it means "bleach is bad," though.
Instead, you could get rid of the gray with lemon juice or baking soda.
Best of luck!
Luna

二、The Language of Laundry: How to Fix Your Clothing Problems
Dear Luna,
My wife is going to murder me!
She went away on a business trip this weekend,
so I thought I'd help out at home by doing the laundry.
Somehow, I've messed up big time.
Her favorite wool sweater has shrunk down to the size of a doll.
Help me make it big again!
Yours sincerely, Bill
Dear Bill,
It sounds like you've broken the number-one rule of washing clothes:
never put wool in the dryer.
Take a look at the label on your wife's now-tiny sweater.
You'll see it has a square and circle with a cross through it.
Any clothes that have that symbol will be ruined if you try to dry them by machine.
Sadly, it's doubtful you can save your wife's prized sweater.
However, you can take better care of any others she has.
Wash them by hand or with a gentle setting on your machine.
But please, for the wool's sake, make sure the water is cold!
Best, Luna
