水上圖書船「社區學習國際」在寮國贊助打造了一種水上圖書船；這些船隻能運載超過一千本書籍，沿著湄公河岸一一造訪一些偏僻村落。

圖書船抵達時，學校會提前放學，而孩童便會飛奔前往這個水上圖書館。

他們會揀選自己想看的書，然後一直閱讀到深夜．隔天早上再歸還書籍。

然後，圖書船便會繼續開往下一站。

馬力驅動計畫

在衣索匹亞偏遠地區，有些孩童以前甚至從來未曾摸過書本。

而「馬力驅動識字計畫」可望將能改善這個狀況；一名老師與一匹馬，帶著書籍、鉛筆和練習簿，穿梭遊走於各個村落之間。

一抵達目的地，老師便會立即將書本發下去給孩子，然後大聲讀給他們聽。

在這短短的幾個小時裡，孩子們得以一窺閱讀的力量。對於世界上許多人而言，這些行動圖書館是珍貴的寶藏。無論書籍的運抵方式為何．這些移動圖書館讓閱讀的神奇魔力得以持續施展。

Community Learning International（CLI）Book Boats

Community Learning International sponsors a floating library in Laos. The boats, which visit out-of-the-way villages alone the Mekong River, carry more than 1,000 books.

When the boat arrives, school is dismissed, and the children rush to the floating library. They choose their books and read well into the night, returning their books in the morning. The boat then moves on to its next stop.

Horse-Powered Literacy （HPL）

In remote parts of Ethiopia, some children have never even held a book before. But Horse-Powered Literacy hopes to change that.

A teacher and a horse, caring books, pencils and exercise book ravel from village to village. Upon their arrival, the teacher gives books to the children and reads aloud to them. During those few short hours, the children are introduced to the power of reading.

For many people around the world, these portable libraries are a precious treasure. No matter how the books arrive, these mobile libraries are keeping the magic of reading alive.
