艾美和凱莉相約一起喝咖啡；她們倆已經幾個星期沒見面了，打算聊聊彼此的近況。

艾美：最近有什麼新鮮事啊，凱莉？

凱莉：我剛搬進「世紀大廈」的新家。

艾美：是市中心那棟新的摩天大樓嗎？妳怎麼會想搬到那裡啊？

凱莉：我一直都想住在高樓建築裡。我的工作繁忙又吃重，有時還得熬夜加班；所以住在近郊不適合我。此外，我喜歡熱鬧的環境；市中心的活動很多。

艾美：妳住在幾樓？

凱莉：二十六樓。從我家看出去的風景美呆了！妳應該來看看日出的！

艾美：電梯要是故障的話，就有得爬了。

凱莉：這我倒不擔心。我們有好幾部電梯，而且維修保養工作做得非常好。

艾美：那很好。可是，妳還是得花時間等電梯。我呢，只要走出大門，就可以上車，然後出發。

凱莉：是沒錯。那妳會經常開車去健身房嗎？

艾美：一星期會去個幾次。怎麼了？

凱莉：我不需要開車，因為我們大樓就有健身房；搭個電梯就到了。

艾美：那的確很方便，抽個空就可以去運動了

What's good and bad about living in a tall building?

Amy and Kylie are meeting for coffee. They haven't seen each other in a few weeks and are getting caught up.

Amy: So what's new in your life, Kylie?

Kylie: I just moved into my new place in the Century Building.

Amy:The new skyscraper downtown? Why in the world did you move there?

Kylie: I've always wanted to live in a high-rise. My job is busy and demanding, and sometimes I have to work late. So living out in a suburb isn't for me. And I like being in the middle of everything. There is a lot going on downtown.

Amy: What floor are you on?

Kylie: The 26th. The view from my place is fantastic! You should see the sunrise from there! 

Amy: You'll have a lot of stairs to climb if the elevator goes out.

Kylie: I'm not worried. There are several elevators, and the maintenance is excellent.

Amy: That's great. But you still have to spend time waiting for the elevator. I can just walk out my front door, hop in my car and go.

Kylie: True. Do you drive to the gym very often?

Amy: A few times a week. 

Kylie: I don't have to drive because there's a gym in my building. It's just an elevator ride away. That does make it easy to squeeze a workout into your

day.
