細數住在高樓大廈的優、缺點What's good and bad about living in a tall building?

艾美：你們大樓有幾戶？

凱莉：大概兩百戶吧。

艾美：有幾層呢？

凱莉：四十層。頂樓還有個很棒的空間，大樓住戶都可以使用。

艾美：真不錯，只要大家不是都擠在同一個時間使用就好。

凱莉：必須事先計畫，然後上網預約就可以了。這是我們大樓不錯的一點。

艾美：要是發生火災或是地震呢？

凱莉：有疏散計畫，而且我們備有很好的自動噴水消防系統。

艾美：我還是不會想住在那麼高的地方。

凱莉：嗯還有喔，我在家的時候，會覺得好像身處在一個屬於自己的小天地；聽不太到街上的噪音。

艾美：這點就吸引人。

凱莉：此外，住高一點也能有更多的自然光及隱私。

艾美：這個嘛，我有簾子啦！可是還有一件事；妳是怎麼把所有東西都塞進電梯裡的？

凱莉：是有點困難，還好電梯相當大。

艾美：嗯，很高興妳喜歡妳的新家。

凱莉：改天過來看看吧；高樓大廈不一定適合每一個人，但我倒是非常享受。

Amy: How many apartments are in the building?

Kylie: Probably a couple hundred.

Amy: And how many stories high is it?

Kylie: Forty. On the building's rooftop is a cool space for anyone in the

building to use.

Amy: That's great as long as everyone doesn't want to use it at the same time.

Kylie: You just have to plan ahead and sign up online. But it's a nice aspect of this high-rise.

Amy: What if there is a fire or an earthquake in your high-rise?

Kylie: There is an evacuation plan, and the building is equipped with a good sprinkler system.

Amy: I still wouldn't like living so high up.

Kylie: Well, when I'm home, I feel like I'm in my own little world. I don't hear much street noise.

Amy: That's appealing.

Kylie: Being high up also means I get a lot of natural light, and I have privacy.

Amy: Well, I have window shades! But another thing. How did you fit all your stuff into the elevator?

Kylie: It was a little challenging, but the elevator is good-sized.

Amy: Well, I'm glad you like your new place.

Kylie: Come and see it sometime. High-rise living may not be for everyone. But I'm certainly enjoying it.
