ENCHANTING LAPLAND

Up north where Christmas is snowy and bright

Imagine sleeping on an ice bed, drinking out of an ice glass and sitting in an ice chapel. Doesn't that sound unbelievable? But you can do all those things in Lapland! Every winter, construction workers and artists build a village out of ice and snow in only six weeks. This magical-looking place is suitably named Snow Village.

Numerous ice sculptures and ice furniture in Snow Village light up in different colors. They also appear in the snow suites in which indoor temperatures range from -2 to -5 degrees Celsius.

Despite these cool temperatures, overnight guests don't have to worry about being too cold to sleep. Every ice bed comes with a warm sleeping bag. Another special experience is eating at the Ice Restaurant. Those dining there can get a taste of local food like reindeer, Arctic fish and spruce ice cream.

Some people get married at the Ice Chapel in Snow Village. Grooms come to the chapel by snowmobile while brides arrive on a sled. You can't truly compare Lapland's Snow Village to anywhere else on earth, so be sure to see it for yourself!
