Not Another Meeting!

Not Another Meeting!

Oh no…

What's the matter?

I've just been asked to attend another lousy team meeting.

Didn't you just go to one of those yesterday?

Yes, but we didn't cover everything Harrison wanted to cover, as usual

What a waste of time!

Tell me about it.

I don't need to be at the majority of the meetings I end up going to.

Exactly!

I typically spend most of the time waiting for the discussion to turn to a topic that's relevant to me.

I could be getting work done in that time.

No wonder I have to work overtime to finish my jobs.

I have that problem too.

What makes it worse is that the meeting never seems to stay on topic.

Harrison's problem is that he always spends a lot of time talking,

but he never gets to the point.講重點

We should think of some ways to make our meetings more meaningful and productive.

It sounds like you want to have a meeting about meetings.

No way.

We can just email constructive ideas to each other.

Once we have enough ideas for a proposal, we can take it to our managers.

Proposal for More Productive Meetings?

Proposal for More Productive Meetings

To whom it may concern,salutation

Many employees here believe that they are spending too much time in meetings.

While the meetings are important, we believe they are inefficient.

The following document outlines some ideas for making our meetings more productive.

▪Meeting agendas should be clear and given out in advance.

Each topic on the agenda should be given a set amount of meeting time.

If there appear to be too many topics, separate meetings should be organized, and attended only by those who need to be there.

▪Meeting agendas should be followed as closely as possible.

Any topics not on the agenda should not be discussed.

▪Simple topics can be covered by an email or memo. •

If this is the case在此情況, there is no need to have a meeting about them.

These topics should not be on meeting agendas.

▪Meeting invitations should be marked as either necessary or optional.

This lets employees know if their presence is truly necessary or not.

Moreover, it helps them to organize their workload.

▪Meetings should start on time.

It's nice to chat and catch up with people, but this makes meetings run late.
