林布蘭運用光影表現人的情緒；呈現的不只是現實生活中的人，還有人細膩的情感。他以刀子刻刷畫筆所及之處、巧妙處理筆觸，營造出紋理質感，深深影響了後代藝術家。

畫風深刻

一六二八年前後，林布蘭開始根據光源的遠近集中光於一點，打造出聚光燈的效果。

在一六二八年《兩名爭論的老人》這幅畫作中，位於某個區塊裡的所有物件似乎都被打亮了。

觀賞畫作的人會先看到全景後，才注意到其他細節。

一六三二年的畫《杜爾博士的解剖學課》則呈現出幾名醫師同行圍著杜爾醫師以及一具屍體。

每個人臉上的表情似乎都揭露出自己內心深處的個人感受。

一六四二年的《夜巡》無疑是林布蘭最有名的畫作，畫中詳細描繪阿姆斯特丹巡守團的近衛兵。

林布蘭以有別於傳統的構圖，刻畫出每個人不同的動作，顯示出他們各自的職別。

林布蘭一六六五到六九年的《與兩個圈的自畫像》公認是他最偉大的傑作之一，也是眾多自畫像裡最好的一幅。他極具穿透力的眼神向外注視著每一個人。

Rembrandt displayed human emotions using light and shadow. He showed not only real-life humans, but also human feelings. He manipulated the strokes of his paintbrush by rubbing them with a knife to create texture, impacting future artists.

Paintings

Around 1628 Rembrandt began concentrating light in relation to the distance from its source, creating a spotlight. In the 1628 painting Two Old Men Disputing, everything in one area seems lit. One grasps the entire scene before noticing any details.

 The 1632 painting The Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Nicolaes Tulp shows several colleagues around the doctor and a body.

Deep personal feelings seem to be revealed by everyone's expressions.

 Without a doubt Rembrandt's most famous portrait, the 1642 Night Watch details the guardsmen of Amsterdam. Departing from tradition, the artist shows people performing actions that indicate their roles.
