我來告訴大家一個我大學畢業後在費城生活時的故事。

那時，我和一大群朋友住在一起，包括我最好的朋友；我們一起度過了很多歡樂的時光。

但是，有一個夜晚永遠改變了我們的人生。

二○一一年十一月二十五日的晚上，我跟我最好的朋友在廚房打了起來；一切都是因為我想幫助他。

那段時間他酒喝得很凶，跟其他室友經常發生爭執，而且還孤立封閉自己。

這樣的情形持續了好幾週，最後，我認為該是時候介入了。

我跟他說不能再喝那麼多酒，然後試著拿走他的酒。

他非常生氣，便跟我打了起來。

當時情況很嚇人，不過當晚過後，我們都冷靜了下來，好好談了談。

我認為酗酒是他主要的問題；但他表示自己只是利用酒精處理心中的傷痛。

他覺得孤單、心碎，努力想與人建立連結。

他甚至告訴我他一直在考慮自殺。

我當時無法解決他的問題。

然而，在數週後的聖誕節期間，我送了他一份我當時根本沒有意識到的禮物。
